We are constantly monitoring trendy neighborhoods that are the “next” hot spot, which yielded our newest development, Westerly at 740 N. Aberdeen. Apartment supply in the Chicago CBD struggles to keep pace with the tremendous job growth (20,000 jobs/year). Westerly is a block from the “hipster highway” on Milwaukee Avenue and offers walk, bike or light rail access to the West Loop and the job markets in the adjacent River West neighborhood. Five blocks to the south, anchored by Google, are several million square feet of new offices and dozens of award-winning restaurants on Randolph Street and Fulton Market.
Most existing projects in the neighborhood appeal to a younger demographic in unit size and building aesthetics, so we embraced the opposite approach. We designed elevated finishes and robust amenities to target a more discerning demographic, drawing a broader range of renters to contribute to the neighborhood’s thriving economy. Like other Fifield projects, Westerly is a highly amenitized building with elegant unit finishes.
